While we are certainly known for our love of all things cheesy, we definitely never skimp out on desserts. Because really, what tops off a heaping bowl of extra-cheesy Annie’s Mac and Cheese better than, say, some perfectly fried Oreos? The answer is nothing.
Chocolate, Oreos, and M&ms are staples of the desserts we make and eat, though occasionally you’ll see us mixing it up. Here we’ll include the recipe to one of our more popular homemade desserts - if you’ve got anything close to a sweet tooth, we really can’t recommend trying these out enough.
Dessert Recipe #1: FRIED OREOS
Need we say more. These are as dangerously easy to make as they are delicious.
What will I need?
12 Oreos (off-brand is fine, we all like a good Joe-Joe’s now and then. We actually made ours with gluten free off-brand oreos believe it or not)
1.5 cups of pancake batter (this can be either boxed or homemade)
3 cups of vegetable oil
Then what?
Pour the vegetable oil into a saucepan on medium heat, and wait for it to heat up (5-10 mins)
Drop a bit of pancake batter in the oil to see if it’s ready - it will sizzle if it is
Dunk the Oreos in the pancake batter until they are completely covered
Carefully, use tongs to place the pancake-batter covered Oreos into the hot oil, then fry them on both sides until they are golden brown
Remove the Oreos with the tongs, and shake off any excess oil. Place them on a plate covered with a paper towel (the paper towel will help to soak up any remaining oil)
Top the fried Oreos with powered sugar, and ENJOY!!!
