Now, for the recipe!
What will I need?
2.5 cups of pasta (ziti)
1 cup of mozzarella
1/2 cup of parmesan
3/4 cup of ricotta
3 tablespoons of butter
1/4 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 onion, chopped
2 cups of tomato sauce
What do I do?
1) Cook pasta according to box instructions. Drain and set aside, then preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2) Add the butter and olive oil to a pan over medium heat.
3) Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and the chopped onion. Mix until they are coated in the butter and oil, then let everything cook until fragrant (~5 minutes).
4) Next, add the tomato sauce. Stir, and let everything simmer for a few minutes.
5) Mix in the ricotta, and stir until everything is combined. Then, add HALF of the mozzarella, and all of the parmesan.
6) Stir the cheesy mixture until everything is combined, then add the milk and continue to stir.
7) Next, add the cooked pasta to the pan and stir it alll up in the cheese sauce.
8) Transfer pasta to an oven safe dish, and top it off with the remaining mozzarella.
9) Bake at 350 for 25 minutes, or until cheese is perfectly melted.
10) Remove from oven and ENJOY!!!!
